TeamID at the 42nd Vienna City Marathon (Relay Marathon)
by Stefan Erhart
On Sunday, April 6, 2025, the time had come once again: The Vienna City Marathon, long since established as a highlight in the calendar of sports enthusiasts in Vienna, celebrated its 42nd edition. The Department for Innovation and Digitisation in Law at the University of Vienna also took the opportunity to commemorate this special day with two relay teams. The challenge: A total distance of 42.195 kilometers, divided into four segments of 15.5 km, 8.6 km, 6.7 km, and 11.395 km. A course that requires not only endurance and stamina but also team spirit and mental strength.
Team 1 consisted of Stefan Erhart, Theresa Henne, Florian Seitz, and Felix Tauber, who kindly stepped in at short notice to replace the injured Nikolaus Forgó. A strong quartet that mastered the challenge with an impressive time of 3:47:28. Team 2, made up of Anna Tauber, Eva Korenjak Lalovic, Adriana Winkelmeier, and Rodessa May Marquez, also delivered an outstanding performance, completing the race in a respectable 4:18:04.
The team received enthusiastic support not only on the course but also from the sidelines. Saskia Kaltenbrunner, Clara Saillant, and Nikolaus Forgó, who fulfilled his role as team captain with full commitment despite being sidelined by injury, cheered the runners on loudly, providing an extra boost of motivation.Following these excellent running performances, the social part of the day began. The TeamID gathered at an outstanding ramen restaurant to replenish their depleted carbohydrate stores with delicious dishes and engaging conversations. A shared conclusion that once again highlighted that this event is about much more than just athletic success – it’s about camaraderie, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.
Special thanks go to Nikolaus Forgó, who not only significantly contributed to the success of the day as the sponsor of both teams but also added extra energy with his infectious enthusiasm.
We are already looking forward to the next Vienna City Marathon and hope to hit the starting line again with the same spirit and team effort!
