This year’s IDLaw2022 Conference addressed the protection of vulnerable groups in the digital world. On 9 November 2022 the ID offered the forum to present several hands-on projects which aim to protect young and elderly generations in the exercise of their rights in the digital world. Abog. Mariana Alicia Rissetto from University of Vienna introduced Privacy4Kids and Dr. Karl Gladt from the ÖIAT delivered a  concise overview of the projects of the ÖIAT, including Saferinternet.atDigitaleSenior:innenInternet OmbudsstelleWatchlist Internet and Fake Shop Detector.

The insights provided by Mag. Erich Moechel from FM4 on the proposed EU Regulation on the prevention and combating of child sexual abuse opened the floor for continuing the discussions at the panel session. During the panel session, moderated by Prof. Nikolaus Forgó and hosting Mag. Joerg Heidrich (Lawyer specialised in IT law and legal counselor at Heise Medien GmbH)Mag. Erich Moechel (FM4),
Dr. Veronika Nagy (Assistant Professor at the Law Department of Utrecht University)
Dr. Karl Gladt (Head of legal department of the ÖIAT) and
Mag. Sebastian Öhner (Legal counselor at Wiener Kinder- und Jugendanwaltschaft), different topics spanning from the protection of children's privacy online to the consumer protection issues concerning the participation of vulnerable groups to our digitalized world were discussed.
